Choose with confidence

Mesh or solid?
Start with how they work.

Compare how the actual products handle water, filter light and debris, fit the pool, and need to be stored or maintained.

01 / Mesh

Let water pass through.

Mesh allows rain to drain through. Debris and light filtering vary by product, and pool water still needs attention over the off-season.

  • Compare material and light-blocking specifications.
  • Discuss weight, handling, and storage.
  • Plan for the water care your pool needs.

02 / Solid

Plan how water drains.

Solid material blocks water and debris where there is no drain panel. Depending on the design, collected water needs a pump or another specified drainage method.

  • Review drainage and pump requirements.
  • Compare handling and seasonal storage.
  • Discuss the maintenance your cover requires.

A cover’s safety rating depends on the actual product and correct installation. A cover does not replace supervision or other required pool barriers.

New and replacement covers

Plan the fit before choosing the cover

Replacing a cover? Start with the existing installation.

Old order information, the cover brand, and photographs of its condition can help establish the starting point. Changes to decking, steps, walls, or other pool features matter too.

Existing anchors may be usable with a replacement, but their layout and compatibility need review. The same shape or color does not establish that a new cover will fit the old installation.

Choosing the first cover

A first installation begins with the pool’s measurements and surrounding area. Include steps, raised features, nearby obstructions, and access details in your request. Material selection and installation requirements belong in the written quote.

Compare drainage and owner upkeep

Mesh lets water pass through its material. Solid covers use the drainage method specified for that design, which may include a drain panel or pump. Light filtering, handling, and storage vary by product.

Our mesh-versus-solid comparison explains the questions to settle before choosing. Product-specific safety requirements and correct installation remain essential; a cover does not replace supervision or other required barriers.

The details of the fit

Look beyond the cover material.

The pool shape, anchor layout, deck condition and cover hardware all affect a replacement. Existing anchors are not automatically compatible with every new cover. Include the current cover information and any changes around the pool in your quote request.

A little clarity

Safety cover questions.

Can you replace a cover using my existing anchors?

An existing anchor layout may be usable, but compatibility depends on the new cover, measurements, and site. Share the current cover’s brand, order information if available, and any changes to the surrounding deck.

What affects the quote?

Pool dimensions and shape, steps or special features, material choice, existing hardware, and installation requirements affect the scope and price.

Can I ask about a cover and closing together?

Yes. Include both services in the request. The office confirms each scope and the arrangements needed before either appointment is set.
