Before you request an estimate

Make a short list of what is installed: the pool type, pump and filter, heater, attached spa, and any water features. Mention equipment that is not working normally. Those details help define which parts of the system need attention.

You do not need every model number to start. Keep equipment-label photographs or existing paperwork available if the office needs to identify a component.

Check the cover without changing the pool

Identify the cover you plan to use and note tears, missing hardware, or fit concerns. A closing visit and a replacement cover are separate needs. A new cover may involve measurements, product selection, and installation arrangements.

If you want both, include both in the inquiry. Our cover comparison explains drainage and upkeep differences to consider before ordering.

If a different cover or a change to pool access is part of the proposed work, include it in the project conversation. Review cover and access requirements.

Use this estimate checklist

  • Equipment: which installed components are included in winterization?
  • Cover: what handling or installation work is included?
  • Water preparation: which tasks and materials belong in the quoted scope?
  • Separate work: does the pool need cleaning, repairs, replacement hardware, or another service first?
  • Existing agreement: are any seasonal services already included under its current terms?

Compare those items alongside the total price. A lower total with different work included is a different proposal.

Before the arranged visit

Confirm access instructions with the office. Identify locked gates, restricted equipment areas, and where seasonal parts are stored. Report any change in the pool, equipment, or cover since the estimate.

Do not drain the pool, lower the water level, or change equipment settings because of a general online checklist. Those steps depend on the pool, equipment, cover, and agreed work. Follow the preparation instructions provided for your visit.

Keep the off-season instructions

Closing is not the end of all pool-care responsibilities. Obtain the instructions that apply to your cover and equipment, including what to observe and which changes to report. Keep those instructions with the service information so another household member can find them.

For an estimate, use our pool closing and winterization service page. Include the timeframe you prefer; the office confirms availability for your address.
